UK Payment Terms

These terms explain prices, Stripe checkout, the UK cooling-off period, cancellation, refunds and mentor payouts. They supplement the Terms of Service and the service information shown before booking.

Last updated: 28 July 2026

1. Who provides what

SkillBigo operates the marketplace and checkout flow. The mentor identified on the service page provides the mentoring, CV review, webinar, cohort or other booked service as an independent provider unless the checkout clearly states otherwise.

Stripe processes card payments. SkillBigo is not a bank, card issuer or payment institution and does not receive your complete card number.

2. Prices and contract information

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) unless stated otherwise. Before payment, the checkout should show the service, mentor, date or delivery information, duration, total price and any material cancellation terms. Any platform fee payable by the customer must be included in or clearly added to the total before payment.

Check the information carefully. A paid booking is made when checkout completes and confirmation is provided. Keep the confirmation and these terms for your records.

3. Stripe checkout and authentication

Stripe may collect billing information and perform fraud checks. Your bank may require Strong Customer Authentication under UK payment rules. A failed authorisation does not create a confirmed paid booking.

Stripe handles payment data under its own terms and privacy notice. SkillBigo receives transaction identifiers, status, amount and limited payment information needed for bookings, support, refunds and accounting.

4. Fourteen-day cancellation right

If you are a UK consumer buying online, you will normally have 14 days from the contract date to cancel a service without giving a reason. Tell support@skillbigo.com clearly that you want to cancel and include the booking reference.

If the service is scheduled to begin within those 14 days, checkout asks you to expressly request early performance. If you then cancel after work has begun, the provider may deduct a proportionate amount for the service supplied. The cancellation right can end once the service is fully performed if you requested early performance and acknowledged that consequence.

5. Platform cancellation and rescheduling

The service-specific cancellation and rescheduling policy shown before payment also applies, but it cannot remove mandatory consumer rights. A mentor cancellation should result in rescheduling or a refund for the undelivered service.

Where a customer misses a session or cancels outside the permitted window, the displayed charge may apply, subject to statutory rights and fair treatment of exceptional circumstances.

6. Service quality and refunds

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill and information relied on about the service may be binding. Where the service is not provided as agreed, you may be entitled to repeat performance or a price reduction, which can be a full refund in appropriate cases.

Request a refund through support@skillbigo.com with the booking reference, what happened and the requested outcome. Approved card refunds return to the original payment method and bank processing times may vary.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

Contact us first so we can investigate. A chargeback opened with your card issuer may pause a separate refund while the dispute is reviewed. We may share booking, consent, attendance and delivery evidence with Stripe and financial institutions where necessary to respond lawfully.

8. Mentor pricing and payouts

Mentors set their service price subject to platform rules. Any SkillBigo platform fee, payout deduction or reserve applicable to a mentor should be disclosed before the mentor publishes or accepts the service.

Payouts may use Stripe Connect Express and are subject to onboarding, identity checks, payout timing, refunds, disputes, fraud controls, reserves and Stripe's connected-account terms. Mentors remain responsible for tax, insurance and professional obligations.

9. Complaints and statutory rights

Email support@skillbigo.com with “Payment complaint” in the subject line. We will consider the contract information, checkout record, service evidence and applicable consumer law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, while UK consumers may use the courts of the part of the UK where they live and retain mandatory local protections.
